Statement

Using personal narratives, I create installations that explore the space between public and private. Text, images, and objects act as mnemonic devices that tell my stories. My artworks form typologies of memory and are a way of assembling and activating my past.

Drawn to the inherent materiality of objects, I incorporate photography, printmaking, and sculpture into my practice. In synthesizing these processes, I trace my fascination with memory, material culture, and the social sciences.

Inviting viewers to my narrative is akin to writing a play. I carefully consider the amount of information of am sharing and manipulate the experience through the use of mapping, scripted audio, text and non-linear patterning.  Creating collections of art objects that have relationships with one another allows stories to be revealed, assembled and digested.
